About the Race


The Fourth Annual JB Blastof 5K begins Saturday April 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. We're thrilled to announce that John Brewer's Tavern is generously sponsoring this year's event, and the race will start and finish at Brewer's, 39 Main Street in Waltham, where the awards and post-race party will take place. The course is a fast, fairly flat 3.1 miles (5K) and will be chip-timed by RaceWire. There will be prizes for top finishers in various categories, and all proceeds go to benefit the American Brain Tumor Society. And once again we're proud to be part of the Race Around Waltham (RAW) Series which encourages participation in all Waltham races and tracks runners, walkers and volunteers for prizes. Parking is limited -- Please respect Walgreen's customers and only park in the JB Blastoff designated parking areas located at Watertown Savings Bank and The Gore Estate (and many thanks to both organizations for their generous support!).
