About Mikey's Run for Hope
This race is in memory of Michael Emerson Maloney, who tragically passed away in March 2013. In an effort to carry on his spirit, we are hosting this event to remember him.
All registration proceeds and donations will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Please see http://www.afsp.org/, for more information about this incredible organization. This is the second annual run/walk, in the first year of our event we raised over $5,000 to support suicide prevention. By raising awareness surrounding mental health issues, we hope to help share the support that exists in many forms throughout our community. It is time that the stigma around suicide and mental health disorders be lifted. We hope that this event will spark meaningful conversations regarding mental health and allow survivors of suicide to come together to understand their grief.
