About HUSSDOG JOG
The HUSSDOG JOG is a 5k and 2 mile walk held in memory of the late Steven R. Hussey. Steven was a member of the Pembroke and larger community as a neighbor, coach, friend, father, son, brother, and husband, who unfortunately left us in February of 2011.
The HUSSDOG JOG works to help those who have suffered a stroke, which Steven suffered in February of 2005, leaving him with residual paralysis and health difficulties. Currently we are in the works of aligning with a non-profit so that the money we raise can support patients and families who have suffered a stroke and are not able to afford the necessary handicap accessibility and physical therapy equipment in the home. We also hope the funds can help to provide more outpatient visits when their insurance runs out. These were challenges met by our family and to be able to provide this support, we hope to increase the quality of life and longevity of those who suffer from a stroke. We are still finalizing whether we are hoping to become a non-profit in the future, or if we will be able to work with local brain injury and stroke centers!
Due to the generosity of many, last year we were able to raise $2,000 to donate to the American Stroke Association which was greatly appreciated! Let's continue to keep Steven's name alive while helping to support those living around us who are in need!
