About Nick's Courage
Hi! My name is Ashlyn Mercier and I am Miss Farmingbury 2022. This April I will be competing for the title of Miss Connecticut. One of my favorite parts about this job is that I am able to promote a social impact initiative of my choosing. My social impact initiative is entitled Nick's Courage: One Smile Goes a Mile. This social impact is in honor of my younger brother, Nicholas, who is a two-time pediatric cancer survivor. The mission of my social impact is to bring positivity into the lives of children battling critical illnesses. One of the ways I do this is by supporting organizations that have a similar mission through various fundraisers, like this 5K!
About This Event
The Nick's Courage 5K is being put on by the Nick's Courage: One Smile Goes a Mile initiative. All the money that is raised through the Nick's Courage 5K will benefit the Hole in The Wall Gang Camp. The goal of the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is "to ensure that children with serious medical conditions have the chance to experience the world of possibilities that camp has to offer. Through the generosity of others, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp community provides this unique healing experience to kids in need and their families, including those who may not be able to come to Camp."
