Trails for Titans 5K Trail Run 2016
DATE: SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 18, 2016. Held rain or shine.

Our mission is to raise funds for charitable community organizations that provide aid to children, families, and individuals in crisis.

We are raising funds at this event for Epilepsy Foundation New England and several other southern NH and VT charitable organizations who will be present to raise awareness to their cause.

Registration:

$30 — June 10 – August 21 (Midnight ET)
$40 — August 22 – September 17 (Midnight ET)
$45 — On-Site Day of Event, Sept. 18

First 200 participants registered receive a FREE t-shirt

No refunds if race is cancelled due to extreme weather conditions.

Gates Open: 8:00 am

Onsite Registration: 8:30 am - 10:00 am

Trail Run begins: 10:30 am (sharp).

Great Prizes from area merchants will be raffled to raise funds, and donations can be made directly when you register for your event.

Ecology-focused companies and supporting merchants will also be present at the event.

Music, food, beverage, and family activities will be available throughout the day for everyone to enjoy!

Course: The 3.6 mile course begins at Granite Gorge and proceeds with moderate hills along the scenic Otter Brook Trail toward Otter Brook State Park, for approx. 1 mile. Then, it turns into the woods for the next mile, and the terrain becomes more obstacle like, winding, hilly, and rocky, with multiple foot bridges over wooded streams. Next, through the state park and back to Granite Gorge on a trail with steep inclines that eventually reconnects with the starting trail along Otter Brook, and to the Finish Line.

Awards:

All finishers receive the coveted TFT medal
Prizes will be awarded for best male/female overall time
First Place male/female runners receive a TFT Trophy in each age group.
Second & Third Place male/female runners in each age group receive a TFT Plaque.

Age groups: 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-99

Registered participants can avoid waiting in line Sunday morning by picking up your TFT packets (with your numbered bib and other goodies) on Saturday September 17, 10 am – 2 pm at a location yet to be announced. Please check titanraces.com often for crucial updates.

Free parking is available in Granite Gorge lots and along both sides of RT 9.

From 91 South, take exit 5 Westminster VT /Walpole NH to Rte 12 South, to Rte 9 East, and then only 5 miles to Granite Gorge Ski Area located on Rte 9.
From 93 South take 89 N to Rte 202/Rte 9 West to Granite Gorge Ski Area located on Rte 9.
South or West of GG:
From 91 North take exit 3 Brattleboro/Keene to Rte 9 East, 25 miles to Granite Gorge Ski Area.
From Route 2 West, take exit 24- Rte 140 North to Winchendon MA to Rte 12 North to Keene. Rte 12 North intersects with Rte 9 East then five miles to Granite Gorge Ski Area
East of GG:
From Interstate 95 take Rte 4 West to Rte 93 South, 89 N to Rte 202/Rte 9 West to Granite Gorge Ski Area located on Rte 9

I understand that running a trail race is potentially a hazardous activity. I further understand that I should not enter “TrailsForTitans 5K Trail Run 2016” unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I assume all risks associated with running this event including, but not limited to, falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high/heat or humidity, terrain conditions on the trail, all such risks being understood and appreciated by me. I having read the waiver and understand these facts, and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I hereby voluntarily enter into this waiver and release agreement for myself, my heirs, executor and assigns for purposes of voluntarily releasing any and all liability that I have or may have against Trails for Titans, LLC, a Vermont Liability Company and its members, officers, employees, agents, and sponsors including the owner of property or properties of which Trails for Titans running trail is constructed or designed, where man-made obstacles or obstacles inherent on the course, i.e. roots, branches, rocks, uneven and hilly terrain, etc. may be encountered by the participant . Trails for Titans courses and running events are designed to challenge our physical and mental limits of endurance. I have chosen to participate in this Trails for Titans event of my own free will and understand that without this waiver and release agreement my application and registration would not be accepted. I have read the following WARNING: Participation in the Trails for Titans Course or Running Trail contains risks of injury including serious bodily injury, personal injury or death. I personally assume such risk and hold Trails for Titans harmless of any and all claims for property damage, personal injury or death which may result as a part of my participation. It is my intent to assume the risk of all foreseeable or unforeseeable injury and to express release and discharge and hold harmless Trails for Titans its members, officers, employers, agents and sponsors including the property owner where the event occurs of any liability arising from negligence, carelessness, strict liability or tort recognized by a court of law. In furtherance of my participation in the event and access to the Trails for Titans Course I agree that I will not file any lawsuit or action against Trails for Titans. I also release any rights I may have to intellectual property rights or personal property rights associated with any images, video tapes, or recordings of me at the event. Trails for Titans LLC is authorized to publish and use any images of me or statements made by me in any type of media or promotion. This waiver is not subject to reconsideration or revocation. By acknowledging this agreement, I state that I am of sound mind and body and not under the influence of any substance which may impair my ability to understand the rights I am waiving. I have read this document in full and understand the full meaning and extent of its terms and provisions. No one has pressured me or exerted any duress and my signature and agreement is completely voluntary. I therefore accept all risks associated with participation in the event and agree to be bound by the terms of this agreement in any court of law. For purposes of registration and jurisdiction over this agreement Vermont Law shall control. Participant FOR TITANS EVENT RULES: I affirm that I am above the age of 18 and if not I am participating under the supervision of a responsible adult. All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a safe and prudent manner and to follow all directions issued by Trails for Titans staff and volunteers. I understand that I may be removed from the event if I disobey any rules, directions or engage in dangerous behavior that could bring harm to myself or others. Pets are specifically prohibited from the Course or Running Trail and Festival Grounds. Participants will leave the course to attend to any personal matters involving hygiene. Participants are required to report any dangerous condition or person breaking any of the rules governing this event.
