About the Race
The 2020 race will be “virtual” due to the pandemic, but it will be memorable in many ways. In early August, the race founder and co race-director, Carol Chaoui passed away from Metastatic Breast Cancer. The 2020 Wellesley Turkey Trot will be dedicated to Carol Chaoui. Our logo has been updated with C.C. on the singlet and as well as a ribbon. We are encouraging runners to run/walk your virtual race and honor Carol by wearing pink and/or orange (her favorite colors), superhero capes and/or Wonder Woman accessories. Take photos of your race and share them with us and on social media! If you were lucky enough to know Wonder Woman Carol (if not Google Wonder Woman Carol Wellesley), you know how she loved people to get in the spirit of things and dress up in costumes to run. She was also passionate about raising funds for the community and medical research. Dress up, show up and let's all run for Carol this year.
Please do not run/walk your virtual run on the Turkey Trot race course. One mile of the course is on Wellesley College property which is closed to the public during the pandemic. We ask that you respect this request as Wellesley College has been very gracious and generous to the race over the years and we do not want to jeopardize this relationship.
Choose your own course. Have a mask or buff with you, and remember roads will be open to traffic, unlike race day.
You may run/walk your 5k and/or Kids Run between November 21-29. You will have the opportunity to send in your results to RaceWire and full results will be posted.
The Wellesley Turkey Trot Foundation will be selecting this year's race beneficiaries after the race.
Help us make a lasting impact in our community. Please consider making an additional tax-deductible donation to support our charity partners during the registration process or mail a check payable to Wellesley Turkey Trot Foundation, Inc. to Kate Maul, 64 Washburn Ave. Wellesley MA 02481
