Race Beneficiary
The race this year will benefit The Glimmer of Hope Foundation. Glimmer of Hope is a non-profit organization showing girls their strength and beauty through donating bald dolls and bringing HOPE to families battling childhood cancer. After being diagnosed with leukemia at age 11 and losing her hair, Ella wrote a letter to American Girl asking them to create a bald doll. Ella named her doll "Hope". This bald doll is now bringing thousands of young girls joy and hope. Ella passed away on August 24th, 201 but is still spreading her light to thousands through "Hope". Glimmer of Hope is honored to be carrying on Ella's legacy and the Turkey Trot is honored to have them as our 2021 beneficiary. About This Event
The East Greenwich Hill and Harbour Turkey Trot 2021 presented by the Main Street Association of East Greenwich is a fully sanctioned and certified 5K race held in East Greenwich, Rhode Island the Saturday after Thanksgiving on November 27, 2021. The course highlights much of the beauty of East Greenwich, which includes Main Street, the waterfront and the hill district. In addition to the 5K race the festivities include a 1 Mile Fun Run, crafts, and music which will allow the entire community to get involved. This race has become a Thanksgiving time tradition for many! The 5K will begin at 8:30 and the 1 Mile Fun Run will begin at 9:30.
