The Foundation’s mission is to help those within the hockey community in need. Whether it is a family down on their luck or a program supporting getting underprivileged players on the ice or a rink that needs new lights – we want to help.
Our Course
The PenaltyBox 7 Miler runs end-to-end along the beautiful Cape Cod Canal. The Canal service road is open to foot and bicycle traffic only - no cars! You will be provided a bus ride to the start line at Scusset Beach, run directly alongside the canal past the Sagamore Bridge, Herring Run, Seagull Plateau, the Bourne Bridge, and finish at Buzzards Bay Park in the shadow of the Railroad Bridge. There will be 3 aid stations provided for your comfort along the route.
Race Distance
The race is exactly 7 miles long. We also have a special Kids' Mile for runners 10 years and under. The Kids' Mile begins and ends at Buzzards Bay Park. Can't make it to Buzzards Bay? No problem!! Check out our VIRTUAL 7 miler - you'll receive a race bib, tshirt, and medal to wear proudly once you finish the distance wherever you are!
Gifts and Awards
Each entry receives a race bib and PenaltyBox goodie bag. Runners who register prior to September 1st will receive a complimentary race t-shirt. Awards will be given to the top 3 finishers overall (male & female), plus the top finisher in each age bracket.

I understand that running and/or volunteering in a road race is a potentially hazardous activity, which could cause injury or death. I will not enter or participate unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by my participation, I certify that I am medically able to perform this event, am in good health, and am properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to any aspect of my participation in this event, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I attest that I have read the rules of the race and agree to abide by them. I assume all risks associated with running in this event, including but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather (including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road), all such risks being known and appreciated by me. I understand that bicycles, skateboards, roller skates or roller blades, and animals are not allowed in the race. I understand that personal music devices shall not interfere with my ability to hear and understand spoken warnings and instructions. I will abide by all race rules. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and inconsideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the PenaltyBox 7 Miler, the town of Bourne, the PenaltyBox Foundation, all event sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I grant permission to the foregoing to use my photographs, motion pictures, recordings, and any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose. I understand that this event is not obligated to provide for refunds in the event of a cancellation and by signing this waiver I consent that I am not entitled to a refund if the event is cancelled before or during the event.
