Run the Headlines 5k

I understand that participation in the Run the Headlines 5k for Fig City News (“the Event”) involves physical activity that carries inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, weather-related conditions, traffic, and uneven surfaces. I acknowledge that these risks may result in serious injury, illness, or death. I certify that I am physically fit, sufficiently trained, and capable of participating in this Event. I have not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical professional. I understand that it is my responsibility to monitor my own physical condition during the Event and to stop if I feel unable to continue safely. In consideration of being allowed to participate, I hereby assume all risks associated with participation and waive, release, and discharge Fig City News, its officers, employees, volunteers, sponsors, partners, vendors, local government entities, and any other organizations or individuals associated with the Event from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, or causes of action arising out of or related to my participation, including negligence, to the fullest extent permitted by law. I grant permission for emergency medical treatment to be administered if deemed necessary, and I agree to be responsible for any medical expenses incurred. I further grant Fig City News permission to use my name, likeness, voice, and any photographs, video, or recordings taken during the Event for promotional, editorial, or informational purposes without compensation. I understand that Event registration fees are non-refundable, including in the event of cancellation due to weather or circumstances beyond the organizers’ control. If the participant is under 18 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must sign below and agree to all terms of this waiver on behalf of the minor. By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and voluntarily agree to this waiver and release of liability. SecureFee™ Registration Cancellation Insurance is offered in most states.
